Bag Pouch

July 14, 2011

For my friend’s birthday, i bought her a present that didn’t come with the plastic or something to cover. So i made this bag pouch that double function as a gift wrapper and  tote bag itself. I made it reversible so she can wear it whatever color she moods in. Luckily i had the fabric color that match with the gift.

Sewing Dress

July 12, 2011

This is my first sewing project. I follow the shape of my fave dress to make patterns, and voila, it was quite success. Blogland make me try something creative. And i love handmade.

I did quilting

July 11, 2011

This is what i make for my 1st quilt project. Actually i’m not so fans of quilting. Since i put some quilting blogs in my google reader, it made me curious, to do that, even only once. I saw the mug rug project, which is fun and quick, but i did little bit bigger than mug rug. I made it in placemat size. I know i wouldn’t make placemat, 4-6 repitition items? come on…. not now. Well, i wear it for my praying mat.

i picked some of my batik fabrics (from amesh),  then did the simple and easy pattern. Quilting was fun, but binding, was another story, quite frustrating, especially in the corner section, even i already watched binding instruction from youtube. Oww.. and i liked the backside.

Placemat for lunch

My recent project. Easy, simple, and useful. As a placemat and utensils keeper. Roll them up, and ready for school.

Sewing: CD Case

April 10, 2011

Wow… my craft’s mind really jiggling up, i made two things in a row. I just made CD Cover, pattern from One Yard Wonder book. As usual, i can’t see the blank thing, so i put my crochets.

Sewing Book Cover

April 9, 2011

I had these book that i need to cover it. I don’t like the old cover, made from bulky pink+purple fake lather. Yiekkkss, not to mention that i didn’t like those colors, I did, but the combo was really big-no-no.

So i made my version. This is my first time sewing with bias tape. I must admit, it’s difficult. Really difficult. But i loved the result.

Making Journal Photos

April 8, 2011

I want to make this for such a long time, but all i said was ‘later, later, and later. The time flies and I forgot. Forgot where i  put the photos, the blankbook, the embelishments, and bla, bla, bla. The main formula is to do it as soon as possible after you travelling. So you still had the feeling. Collect, edit and print the photos, find the books (i find my blank notebook from vitarlenology, she’s very talented and creative), whatever it is, plain, ruled…..glued here and there, writing comments or notes, and voila…..

I had one tin box that full of movie tickets, hotel keycards, and i collects maps, brochures, anything i found interesting to take. Wherever it is.  Sshh…my husband thought they are stashed and want to throw them away. Please no. They’re precious.

Ok, to make the journal, it wont finished in an hour, it need process that sometimes took hours to make it. But it’s worthed. Try it now, it’ll keep your memory back to your holiday and will make you smile when you open the journal.

Batik Sofa

March 27, 2011

I want to give something unusual for my niece’s birthday. Something that unique and useful. Then my sis remind me ‘why didn’t you buy a small-size sofa?’

So, I ask amesh if she had the ready-stock item. Lucky me, she got some that I can choose.

Here are the sofa+stool, it’s really cute.

*many thanks for the pic, revy..

My New Yarn Winder

February 5, 2011

This is my new toy (not just for me, the kids like it too). The Yarn Winder. Windering the yarn into the ball never been so easy, actually it’s not easy as it look. We’re too excited to turn the handle so much and didn’t realize, the yarn got tangled beneath the handle. And took ages and sweat to get it through before we started to wind again.

The Winder

Before

On going process

After. So neat.

DIY Notebook

February 3, 2011

I made a notebook from the used paper today.

Fold the papers in half

Mark the paper to make holes

Punch 2 holes

Find the pattern papers you like, then choose the brads button

I chose the polkadots motif for the cover and the stripes for the binders.

Set the brads into the holes

Press the sharp things

Closed the back of the brads with the binder paper

I used the pattern cellotape to protect the sharp edges

And your notebook is ready to go. It’s really cute for a gift.
